Radiation Exposure

We have compiled the materials below on radiation exposure in Japan, particularly that resulting from the activities of the nuclear industry. Research into radiation illness in Japan has been of immense significance. Initially research focused mainly on radiation illnesses caused by the atomic bombing of Japan in World War II, however the adverse health effects of radiation on nuclear workers is gradually gaining recognition too.

See our Data page for links to annual worker radiation exposure figures.

See our JCO Criticality Accident page for detailed information on the worst case of radiation exposure in the history of Japan's nuclear industry.
